Lilac Blossoms in all Shades...

This was quite an unusual lilac bush - the blossoms appeared in all kinds of violet hues - simply wonderful. This would make a marvellous model for painting and learning how to mix colours...

The Dance of Spiraea and Forsythia...

Spring was very short this year but mother nature compensated us for this with the blooming of many plants at the same time - so you could enjoy blossoms which normally appear one after the other such as these - the dance of spiraea and forsythia:

Yellow Blossom Beauties...

Did I say it already? The forsythia are extremely beautiful this year - not only is the colour incredibly intense but the blooms last a long time...

Forsythia Blossoms - full Bloom

I cannot explain why but this year the Forsythia seem to be exceptionally beautiful and intense in their colours. Maybe it's because they had to wait for so long to be able to bloom - 2 months later than usual!!

I especially like these photos for their dynamic - the wind was blowin' quite strongly while I took these photos....

Golden Ash....

The ash tree was the sacred tree of the celts. In Germany you'll find them often in public parks and residential areas because of their beautiful blossoms and filigree foliage which appears with an outstanding luminous green in spring.
Normally they lose their leaves in autumn when they are still green. This year I found some real beautiful exceptions - but judge for yourself...
